With this portlet it's possible to share files on the portal, classified and viewed as a directory tree. Each directory can be assigned to specific user's groups, in order to tailor the access to files to the whole company, specific business units or single teams.
Ad advantage over simply sharing a folder on a file server is that here both folders and files have a description that helps the user navigate and find the file. Also the operations performed on the file, such as an updating, can be tracked.
